Augustana-Hochschule-Neuendettelsau

The Augustana -Hochschule Neuendettelsau is a church university, which was founded in 1947 by the decision of the Land Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Bavaria for the training of theologians in Neuendettelsau ( Middle Franconia ).

The college has six theological professorships ( Old Testament, New Testament, Church History, Systematic Theology, Intercultural Theology, Practical Theology ) and a Philosophical Chair, a Professorship of Feminist Theology, two Lectures in Classical Philology (Latin, Ancient Greek ) and a Hebrew Lecturer, The scientific assistants and various lecturers complement the range of topics (for example, voice training and liturgical singing, Bavarian church history, church law).

The university has a presence and lending library with a book holding of more than 150,000 volumes, mainly from the 19th to 21st centuries, to a small extent to the 16th century, including a collection of pamphlets from the Reformation. The library belongs to the Association of Church-Scientific Libraries.
