Ball State University, established in 1918, is a public institution located in Muncie, Indiana, approximately one hour northeast of Indianapolis. The university boasts a total undergraduate enrollment of 17,004 students and is situated on a 1,140-acre suburban campus. Ball State follows a semester-based academic calendar. In the 2019 edition of Best Colleges, Ball State University was ranked 171st among National Universities.
The university offers around 180 undergraduate majors, including a notable entrepreneurship program. As part of their senior-year requirements, entrepreneurship students must complete the New Venture Creation course, during which they develop a business plan and present it to a panel of business professionals before graduation. In addition, Ball State offers more than 100 graduate programs, including those in the Miller College of Business and the Teachers College.
