Bridgewater State University is a public university in Bridgewater, Massachusetts. It is the largest college in the Massachusetts state university system outside the University of Massachusetts system.
Bridgewater State University is among America's oldest teacher education institutions, the first to have a building devoted to education of teachers. Bridgewater continues today to lead in the preparation of educators as the largest producer of Massachusetts teachers, holding the highest national ranking available (Title II first quartile).
The university has 108 majors in 23 areas of studies starting with the popular education, aviation, psychology, accounting, criminal justice and many others. The university has 30 academic departments ranging from Accounting and Finance to Theatre and Dance.The Athletic Training program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE)
