City University of Seattle, also known as CityU, is a private, nonprofit higher education institution located in Seattle, Washington. In the 2016–17 academic year, CityU enrolled 6,755 students globally.
The university includes the School of Management, Albright School of Education, School of Arts and Sciences, School of Applied Leadership, Technology Institute, and Washington Academy of Languages. CityU offers both on-campus education worldwide and online programs. It is part of the National University System, a private, nonprofit network of universities.
Founded in 1973 by Dr. Michael A. Pastore as City College, CityU was initially created to serve the educational needs of working adults. Over the years, it has expanded its global presence and formed partnerships with other educational institutions to provide certificate and degree programs. By 2014, CityU had graduated over 50,000 students worldwide.
