The Evangelical University of Freiburg (EH Freiburg) is a denominational, state-approved college located in Freiburg im Breisgau. The institution of the university is the Evangelical Church of Baden. Since 1 January 2015, Renate Kirchhoff is the new rector of the university.
The core study program offered by EH Freiburg comprises the Bachelor programs Social Work, Religious Education / Community Deacons and Pedagogy of Childhood. In recent years, the university has expanded its courses of study through new master's programs and continuing education.
The Rectorate and the Senate are the organs of the college gem. § 12 RVO Constitution EH Freiburg of 24 July 2013. The collegiate rectorate directs the university. It is responsible for all matters for which there are no other competitors in the Constitution.
Church sponsorship means that the university specifically carries out the mission of the Evangelical Church in Baden to contribute to social education and social design. As a result, special importance is attached to teaching, research and further education in anthropology and ethics and in interdisciplinary dialogue in the human and social sciences.
