The University of Applied Sciences Dresden - University of Applied Sciences, abbreviated FHD, is a state-recognized private university in Dresden. The school is the Fachhochschule Dresden - Private Fachhochschule gGmbH.

In 2010, the university received state recognition. The FHD teaches at two locations. On the Lingnerallee campus, the Faculty of Design holds bachelor's degree courses in Media Informatics / Media Design, Fashion Design and Graphic Design. On the campus on Straßburger Platz (Güntzstraße 1 in Dresden) are located the faculties of business administration and the 2015 newly founded faculty of applied social sciences. 

The Faculty of Business Administration includes the bachelor programs " Tourism & Event Management", "Logistics Management" and " Business Administration "; The Faculty of Applied Social Sciences includes the Bachelor's degree programs "Social Work & Social Management "and" Care & Health Management ".

The courses "Tourism & Event Management", "Social Work & Social Management" and "Care & Health Management" are offered both as full-time and extra-occupational options.
