The German Graduate School of Management and Law gGmbH (GGS, until 2009 Heilbronn business school, hbs ) is a private, state-approved foundation university in Heilbronn, founded in 2005, which is funded by the Dieter Schwarz Foundation. It offers part-time Master's programs for graduates.
The GGS offers university graduates an extra-occupational Master program lasting four semesters (18 to 24 months). The courses take place in the extra-occupational weekend format.
In October 2006, the MBA program and the Master's program Business Law (LL.M.) started. In total, the university offers eight master's programs.
Since 2008, GGS has been offering continuing education courses in the fields of business and law in executive education. The program consists of specially designed in-house training for individual companies, open seminars such as the Leadership Certificate and the Women in Management series, as well as lecture series.
For example, the tuition fees for the MBA program General Management amount to € 7375 per semester (as of 2017), of which up to 75 per cent is covered by a scholarship from the Dieter Schwarz Foundation. At present (October 2016), there are about 300 students at the GGS. President of the College was Thomas Armbrüster from July 2008 to June 30, 2009. From July 2009 to July 2011 Dirk Zupancic (Chief Executive Officer) and Tomás Bayón (Academic Dean) jointly managed the GGS. From July 2011 to December 2016, Dirk Zupancic served as President and Managing Director. The cooperation with Zupancic ended in the course of the decision of the Dieter Schwarz Foundation on the settlement of a state university on the education campus, in which the GGS according to the ideas of the Foundation should go long term. Since January 2017 derives Tomás Bayón the GGS as a board of university and sole director.
