Grand Valley State University (GVSU) is a public liberal arts university located in Allendale, Michigan, established in 1960. The main campus spans 1,322 acres, about 12 miles west of Grand Rapids, with additional campuses in Downtown Grand Rapids, Holland, and Traverse City in collaboration with local community colleges.

GVSU serves nearly 25,000 students from Michigan, across the U.S., and around the world. One of the largest universities in the U.S., it employs over 3,000 people, including about 1,780 academic faculty members. The university boasts a diverse alumni network in all 50 U.S. states and 25 countries.

Home to the Lakers, GVSU's NCAA Division II sports teams compete in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) and have won 20 NCAA Division II National Championships in seven different sports since 2002.
