The Aalen University - Technology and Economics is a university of applied sciences (formerly Fachhochschule ) with a technical and economic focus in Aalen in the east of Baden-Württemberg. Founded in 1962, it was converted into a college in 1971 and has about 6,000 students.
In 2009, the further education academy of Aalen University was founded as a non-profit limited liability company. The aim of the Academy is the promotion of professional development. Both the Förderverein and the Hochschule are members of the Akademie. In addition to the extra-occupational Bachelor 's degree programs in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics and Business Administration, the extra-occupational Master's program in Mechanical Engineering with a focus on simulation and validation as well as academic seminars are offered.
The Graduate School Ostwürttemberg GmbH was founded in 2010 as a non-profit GmbH with the aim to promote professional development in the region and in particular to offer an extra-occupational study program to strengthen the young executives of the region. The partners of the GmbH are the University of Aalen and the Baden-Wuerttemberg Cooperative State University in Heidenheim, as well as the associations of friends and supporters of the two universities. Under the umbrella of the Graduate School Ostwürttemberg, the Master of Business Administration program has been offered since 2010.
