About Hochschule Fulda
The University of Fulda (short: HS Fulda, formerly Fulda University of Applied Sciences) is a scientific campus -Hochschule, which was founded in 1974 as the fifth state university of applied sciences in the state of Hesse. It currently covers eight subject areas with its approximately 9500 students and has been fully accredited to Bachelor and Master degrees as part of the Bologna Process.
The University and State Library Fulda was until 2001 independently established as Hessian State Library in the city centre but was then also integrated into the college. To date, the library can now be reached at these two locations. Although it fulfils its purpose in the city centre of Fulda, it offers its services at the university primarily as support for teaching, study and research of the faculties.
Today the library, equipped with modern computer management, in addition to (music) offers manuscripts, incunabula, audio books, legal deposit and the nation's most comprehensive Hutten Collection also e-books in order to meet the growing demand of the increasing number of students.
To simplify and optimize the user-friendliness, the so-called online catalogue was introduced. This is available online for all holders of a library card at any time and serves the search, status query, extension and reservation of books and other media.
The archive of the university is kept as a deposit in the Hessian State Archive Marburg (inventory 440).
