About Hochschule Mainz
The University of Mainz is a University of Applied Sciences of the state of Rhineland-Palatinate. Until 2017 the name was Fachhochschule Mainz. It is with the Johannes Gutenberg University and the Catholic University one of the three public universities in the state capital Mainz. Mainz University is divided into five locations. It cooperates with more than 600 companies within the framework of the vocational and training-integrated study program and maintains partnerships with some 90 universities worldwide as well as special exchange programs.
At the University of Mainz, research is bundled in the fields of technology, design and economics. The main areas of research were "Information Technology and Communication" and "Materials and Materials in Architecture, Civil Engineering and Design". Mainz University of Applied Sciences focuses on interdisciplinarity, the targeted combination of individual research areas and the close integration of research and teaching. Applied research projects are carried out in cooperation with cooperation partners from science, industry and public institutions. This ranges from practical theses, doctoral theses to third-party funded projects in research and development.
The university has been a member of the Mainzer Wissenschaftsallianz since 2008. In 2015, Mainz University of Applied Sciences founded together with five other scientific institutions the Mainz Center for Digitality in Humanities and Cultural Studies (maize).
