Hochschule Offenburg

The University of Applied Sciences Offenburg, headquartered in Offenburg and branch office in Gengenbach is a university of applied sciences of the state of Baden-Württemberg.

The four faculties of the University of Applied Sciences Offenburg offer 26 Bachelor programs and 21 Master study programs. 

The degree programs with the additional title "plus" are offered together with the PH Freiburg. In these programs, the University of Applied Sciences Offenburg teaches the technical, economic and media-specific knowledge. At the University of Freiburg, pedagogical skills are also learned. These "plus" courses qualify for a master's program with the additional title "Vocational Education". This polyvalent study course gives the student the choice of whether he would later like to work as an engineer, research engineer or teacher at vocational schools. In 2010, among other things, the study program "Medical Technology" was introduced. 

The umbrella organization for research at the University of Applied Sciences Offenburg is the Institute for Applied Research (IAF). The IAF coordinates the various application-related research work at the university. 

The most well-known project of the university is the " Schluckspecht". The goal was to build a vehicle that uses as little fuel as possible. Schluckspecht was the first German participant in the Shell Eco-Marathon in 1998. He was awarded several times in the following period and won the 2008 category of fuel cells. Another vehicle project is the Black Forest Formula Racing Team in cooperation with the DH BW Stuttgart Campus Horb (formerly BA Horb ). From an economic point of view, the team builds a racing car of its own design and regularly participates in the Formula Student.
