Hochschule Stralsund

The University of Stralsund (until February 28, 2017: University of Applied Sciences Stralsund ) is a University of Applied Sciences in Stralsund in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. It was founded on September 1, 1991. The university counts 2,173 students (as of winter semester 2018/19).

She is a campus high school; All faculties are located on a contiguous area in the north of the city (district Knieper North), directly on the Strelasund. In addition, apartments are offered in the student village Holzhausen, sports facilities are located on the campus.

In Team Baltic Racing, students from all faculties regularly take part in the world's largest engineering talent competition, the Formula Student, with their self-developed racing car.

Also located on the campus is the dormitory Holzhausen, which is operated by the Studierendenwerk Greifswald.

All courses of study at the university have been converted to Bachelor and Master programs according to European standards. These are accredited by independent and nationwide agencies.

The Student Consulting Stralsund e. V. organizes seminars for students and events at the HS, such as the IT fair VITA and the SUPA career fair. In addition, students can gain hands-on experience of working with regional and nationwide companies through membership.

Students, mainly from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, are offered Linux workshops, Linux days and LAN parties. You are at the Sund-Xplosion e. V. organized.

Every year at the end of each semester, students organize an open-air concert under the name Campus Spektakel on the campus of HS Stralsund. There are regional and nationally known bands. These students are in Carpe Diem e. V. organizes and operates Knuts Bar, a student cellar in the centre of Stralsund.
