The Catholic University of North Rhine-Westphalia, in short: KatHO NRW, until 31 August 2008 Catholic University of Applied Sciences North Rhine-Westphalia ( KFH NW ) is a private, state-approved university.
The German Institute for Applied Nursing Research e. V. (dip) is a non-profit institute at the Catholic University of North Rhine-Westphalia in Cologne. The dip was founded in November 1999 as a nursing research institute of the KatHO NRW, as well as four Catholic colleges (Freiburg, Mainz, Munich, Osnabrück-Vechta) and four Catholic associations (Deutscher Caritasverband, Catholic Hospital Association of Germany, Caritasgemeinschaft für Pflege- und Sozialberufe , Catholic professional association for nursing professions).
As a holder of the ERASMUS University Charter, the Catholic University of North Rhine-Westphalia participates in the EU's Life Long Learning Program and has signed cooperation agreements with around 30 European partner universities.
On this basis, a program for incoming students is offered together with regional practice partners.
Since 2001, there has been a university partnership between the Catholic University of North Rhine-Westphalia, Cologne department and the University of Bethlehem in Palestine, as well as an exchange project sponsored by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD). The Department of Social Studies in Cologne and the Bethlehem University organize annual student meetings on social work topics, combined with research projects and video conferencing seminars.
