Kharkiv National University of Arts named after I.P.Kotlyarevsky is one of the leading and oldest universities in Ukraine, a creative, scientific and methodical center for musical and theatrical education of Slobozhanshchyna.

The site "About the University" is aimed not at the traditional report on the achievements of higher education, but in the essay on its "creative self-portrait", based on which, as the rector, People's Artist of Ukraine, Ph.D., professor Tetyana Verkina , expressed the need to see oneself as such , which we are today, because for each of us the university is Alma Mater. And the "Word to protect your home" - that we must save and pass on to the next generation.

It is such an epigraph-dedication - Pro Domo Mea (from Latin - "about my own house", "for my house", "for the protection of myself") - has a collective monograph named after I.P.Kotlyarevsky, in which the unique documentary collected and synthesized , archival, historical materials about the history of the institution, the multifaceted activities of its teachers and pupils.
