Kryvyi Rih National University

The history of our university covers almost the entire twentieth century and is closely intertwined with the history of the rich southern edge of Ukraine. Its foundation was a significant event throughout the country's reconstruction and met the urgent needs of the Krivoy Rog iron-ore basin in skilled miners' mines, and today there are still many professions required by our region.

On October 4, 1922, according to a special decree of the Soviet government, the Kryvy Rih Evening Laboratory College began work in the 7-year-old school at Vechirny Kut Station. His task was to prepare engineering and technical personnel for the iron ore enterprises of Kryvorizhzhya. At the three departments of the technical school - mining, mechanical and electrical - 67 students began to study, and the teaching process was carried out by 20 teachers, of which 9 had higher education.

In 1926 the first issue was issued and 12 students received diplomas of technicians.

In 1929 the technical school was transformed into an evening labor institute, and from 1931 in the Kryvy Rih mining institute (CGRI).

In 1930, the Kryvy Rih Institute of Professional Education was founded, from which the history of the Kryvyi Rih Pedagogical Institute of the State Pedagogical University "Kryvyi Rih National University" was founded.
