Medizinische Hochschule Hannover

The Hannover Medical School (MHH) is a university in Hanover with the subjects of medicine and dentistry. Apart from biochemistry and biomedicine, postgraduate programs such as health sciences can also be taken. The Hospital of the Hannover Medical School is a hospital of maximum care, with a national catchment area.

Ever since its foundation, the concept of cooperation between teachers and students has been working "in small groups at the bedside". In this approach, reinforced by the new licensing regulations for physicians, the MHH adheres to the successful teaching concept with its new study model Hannibal (Hanoverian integrated, job- oriented and adaptive curriculum). 

As of the winter semester 2016, there were a total of 3423 students, including 2180 women (63.7%) from 82 nations. 490 students (14.3%) had a foreign passport. They studied mostly human medicine (2059), followed by dentistry (522).

Medical students must complete their final year of study as a Practical Year at the university hospital of their university or an academic teaching hospital. Students can spend their practical year at over 50 teaching hospitals.

The Pastoral Clinic - Center for Clinical Pastoral Education at the MHH is an institution of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Hanover and work area in the centre for the pastoral care of the regional church. The clinic offers training, further education and training for pastors and church workers who work as pastors in churches, hospitals, prisons or diaconal and social institutions.
