New England College

New England College (NEC) is a private liberal arts institution located in Henniker, New Hampshire, with an enrollment of approximately 2,700 undergraduate and graduate students. It holds regional accreditation from the New England Association of Schools and Colleges.

The college offers 37 bachelor’s degree programs, 12 master’s degree programs, and one doctoral program, organized into four academic divisions: the School of Arts & Sciences, the School of Education, the School of Management, and the School of Natural & Social Sciences.

Accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges through its Commission on Institutions of Higher Education, NEC also holds approval from the New Hampshire Department of Education for its Teacher Education Program, as well as for majors in Physical Education, Special Education, Elementary Education, and Secondary Education. The college employs 40 full-time faculty members and maintains a student-to-faculty ratio of 13:1.

NEC’s business programs are currently recognized as "Candidates for Accreditation" by the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP), one of three nonprofit agencies approved by the Council on Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) to accredit business schools.

Experiential learning is a cornerstone of NEC’s academic philosophy, fostering a vibrant community rooted in a strong liberal arts tradition. The college encourages students to reach their full potential through critical dialogue, academic excellence, and the pursuit of knowledge within a framework of academic freedom that aligns with the institution’s values.

The campus is home to a variety of student organizations, including multiple student government committees. Students also contribute to campus life through the award-winning newspaper, The New Englander, and the student-run radio station, WNEC-FM. Greek life remains a vibrant part of campus culture, with the sorority Kappa Delta Phi NAS and fraternity Phi Mu Delta active on campus. Though originally home to five Greek chapters, including two sororities (Kappa Phi Sigma and Phi Sigma Sigma) and three fraternities (Sigma Phi Delta, Lambda Epsilon Delta, and Sigma Alpha Beta), many of these chapters were phased out starting in the late 2000s.

New England College's Pilgrims compete in 18 NCAA Division III intercollegiate sports, including soccer, lacrosse, ice hockey, field hockey, softball, baseball, basketball, cross-country, wrestling, and volleyball. Since 2011, the Pilgrims have been part of the North Atlantic Conference (NAC).
