Ostbayerischen Technischen Hochschule Regensburg

The Ostbayerische Technische Hochschule Regensburg ( OTH Regensburg ) was founded in 1971 as a university for technology, economics and social affairs in Regensburg. Today OTH Regensburg is one of the largest universities of applied sciences in Germany. Eight faculties offer 25 bachelor 's degree programs, 18 master's degree programs and nine continuing education courses (four part-time bachelor's and five postgraduate master's programs). The name "Ostbayerische Technische Hochschule" is borne by an existing cooperation agreement with the Ostbayerische Technische Hochschule Amberg - Weiden.

In addition, the OTH Regensburg offers a doctoral seminar that offers the possibility of students in a cooperative doctoral program the doctoral degree to achieve. In 2016 a doctorate in this way about 80 OTH Regensburg students. At the same time, eleven doctoral candidates and doctoral candidates successfully completed their doctoral thesis. 

In the CHE-Hochschulranking 2015 of the newspaper Die Zeit, the Faculty of Computer Science and Mathematics took first place among all German and Austrian Universities of Applied Sciences. The faculties of the OTH Regensburg were also ranked in the top groups in previous CHE rankings by a majority. The faculties of mechanical engineering and civil engineering made it into the top 10 in Germany and the business administration faculty into the top 20.
