The Technische Hochschule Deggendorf (THD) is a state college for technology, business and the media in Deggendorf, Lower Bavaria.
More than 6,000 students, about 300 full-time and part-time lecturers study and research in Deggendorf and Pfarrkirchen as well as the eight technology centres of the THD. The university offers 32 undergraduate and 14 master degree programs.
In the ranking of Wirtschaftswoche in April 2011, the THD took 9th place in business administration and mechanical engineering, and even 5th place in electrical engineering. In May 2007, the university ranked one of the top places for practical training in five study courses in the CHE ranking: civil engineering, business administration, electrical engineering and Information Technology, Mechanical Engineering and Business Informatics. The readers of the business magazine Karriere from May 2007 also rated the Deggendorf University of Applied Sciences as good. The vote of the surveyed students placed the Deggendorf University of Applied Sciences in the fields of engineering, business administration and business IT.
The Deggendorf University of Technology has developed interdisciplinary profiles for application-oriented research. Scientific findings on new marketable products, processes and services are being implemented. The main research areas are technical, business and organizational problems of small and medium-sized enterprises.
