The Technical University of Ingolstadt ( THI ) is a university founded in 1994 with headquarters in Ingolstadt, now a college. With approximately 5,500 students (as at WS 2017/18), it is one of the medium-sized universities in Bavaria in three faculties (Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, THI Business School) and around 500 employees in science and administration.
Founded in 2004, the Center for Applied Research is the contact for university cooperation in the field of research and development. With approximately 60 scientific staff, the centre conducts applied research on both publicly funded and industry-funded projects.

Once a year, the quality of the universities is put to the test: Selected study programs are evaluated by the Center for Higher Education Development (CHE) according to five criteria. Ingolstadt University of Applied Sciences has been a leader in the university ranking for several years.
It performs particularly well in the criteria of practical relevance, equipment, supervision and study situation. The degree courses Business Administration, Industrial Engineering and Computer Science have positioned themselves among the top 100 in Germany in the university ranking in recent years.
