The Technical University Wildau (short TH Wildau ) was founded on October 22, 1991, as Technical College Wildau in Wildau. It is the largest technical college in the state of Brandenburg and follows the tradition of the former engineering school Wildau.
The study program comprises 30-degree programs in natural sciences, engineering, business administration, law, administrative and management disciplines. The courses offered are consistently practice-oriented.
Responsible for the TH Wildau is the Studentenwerk Potsdam, which operates an office at Campus Bahnhofstraße.
In order to be able to secure the study and teaching conditions in the long term, TH Wildau was the first university in Germany to have its quality standards externally assessed and certified in accordance with ISO 9001.
For the study at the TH Wildau no tuition fees, but semester fees are charged.
The TH Wildau is a research university. Since 2001, it has ranked in the field of applied research in comparison with other universities of applied science in Germany. Research is being conducted in the fields of biosystem technology/bioinformatics, energy and environmental management, information technologies and computer science, materials and production technology, teaching and learning management, logistics, aviation technology, management and innovation, and optical technologies.
The university has numerous contacts to practice partners and is a member of several cooperation networks. Renowned cooperation partners in the field of research have already been the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology, the Federal Ministry of Education and Research, Central and Regional Library Berlin, TÜV Nord, German Cancer Research Center, Volkswagen Coaching and the Fraunhofer Institute for Applied Polymer Research.
