The University of Nottingham was first started off as a Civic college, which was the first of its kind in Nottingham and later it moved to, now, its main campus, University Park. The college was inaugurated by King George V in 1928. The college eventually became the Nottingham University through the Royal Charter in the year 1948. Even in its earlier days, it attracted many famous personalities like Mahatma Gandhi, Einstein and HG Wells as guest lecturers. It has continued to develop and grow since then and has many campuses, even in other countries like Malaysia and China.

The University of Nottingham offers several courses. It has the faculty of Arts, Medicine and Health Sciences, Engineering, Science and Social Sciences. Each faculty has various courses that the students can choose from. The campuses under the university have an amazing infrastructure and an ideal location. University Park Campus is the main campus and is a student hub, it is known to be the most attractive campus in the country. The other campuses are The Medical School, The Jubilee Campus, King's Meadow Campus, and Sutton Bonington Campus.

Many facilities are offered by the University for the students. The Lakeside Arts Centre is the cultural hub of the university. The sports center supports young and growing talents in the field of sports and has over 70 different sports clubs. The libraries are well-equipped and have all the necessary resources. The university's health care center has a dental unit, Occupational health, and a pharmacy.

  • The University of Nottingham ranked 82 at a global level, according to the World University Rankings 2019. It was ranked amongst the top 15 colleges in the UK by the QS World University Rankings 2019
  •  According to a census done in 2016-17, the total number of students enrolled in various courses were 32,515 and out of which: o 25,235 were from UK o 1,630 were from other EU countries. And almost 5,645 were international students, from non-EU countries. More than a quarter of the students are international, which makes it a culturally diverse university
  • The University of Nottingham has a placement percentage of 93.2% and the salary received varies from one course to another but overall, even the salaries are good (up to 22,000 and above, in euros)
