Located in Brisbane, the University of Queensland is among Australia's top public research and teaching universities. Also known as UQ, it was established through a 1909 Act of Parliament of State. Moreover, it was the first educational university in the state and was officially formed in 1910.
The university teaching was started in 1911 with three faculties of Arts, Engineering and Science providing education to 83 students. In 2017, the University had over 52,000 students, including above 15,000 foreign students from over 140 countries. The university offers graduation, associate, master, doctoral and superior doctorate degrees. It maintains a college, a graduate school and six renowned faculties.
The UQ Graduate School offers noteworthy support to higher education by research (HDR) students by providing them with several research travel rewards and scholarships. Not just this, it also provides dedicated office spaces and skills training for the overall development of students. Moreover, there is a Student Employability Centre which offers opportunities and strong support to students so that they can achieve their individual goals.
