The Theological College Reutlingen (THR) is an ecumenically and internationally oriented, state-recognized university. It is administered by the United Methodist Church in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, which are part of the worldwide United Methodist Church are.

The college was accredited on January 28, 2005, and reaccredited for another ten years in 2011. The Chairman of the Science Council, Professor Peter Strohschneider underscores the re-accreditation as follows: "The study will provide a formulation of the mission statement of claim, a practical, yet scientifically sound theological education, justice in both studies. The excellent support ratio enables intensive professional support of the students. The many cooperative relationships with educational institutions in Germany and abroad were also particularly appreciated.
