Founded in 1930, Ukrainian State University of Chemical Technology is a non-profit public higher education institution located in the large city of Dnipro (population range of 1,000,000-5,000,000 inhabitants), Dnipropetrovsk Oblast. Officially accredited and/or recognized by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, Ukrainian State University of Chemical Technology (USUCT) is a coeducational higher education institution. The only specialized institution of higher education of chemistry and chemical engineering in Ukraine. It was founded in 1930 on the basis of leading scientific schools. In 1933 the University received the status of the state university. Now it has the highest IV level of accreditation. The University is widely known as an educational center for scientific and engineering personnel. It has fruitful contacts with enterprises, educational and scientific institutions in the United States, Britain, France, Germany, Italy, Russia, China, Belgium, Poland, Hungary, the Czech Republic. Eight faculties of the University prepare highly skilled specialists in 27 areas of different professional qualifications: chemical engineer, ecologist, heat and power engineer, manager and specialist in automation and metrology. The University currently employs highly potential scientific and teaching staff, including 49 professors and doctors of science, 237 candidates of science. The University is a member of 12 academies, more than 30 leading scientists were selected as university academicians and Corresponding-Members, 10 scientists are members of foreign academies. Scientists and students receive Soros grants.
