The University of Arizona, a public research university in Tucson, was founded in 1885 by the 13th Arizona Territorial Legislature. With over 51,000 students enrolled, the university received nearly 52,000 applications for first-year admission. Students at the University of Arizona have the opportunity to pursue academic goals across four campus areas, offering programs through 20 colleges and 12 schools. The university is also home to two independently accredited medical schools in Tucson and Phoenix. International students seeking admission must maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale (83-86%) for both undergraduate and graduate programs.
