University of Saskatchewan

At the heart of Saskatoon, on Treaty 6 territory and the homeland of the Métis, is the University of Saskatchewan, one of Canada's top research universities.

Saskatchewan is a Canadian province that borders the United States to the south. Grassland covers its southern plains, and to the north are the rugged rock of the Canadian Shield plateau, coniferous forests, rivers and lakes. Regina, the provincial capital, is home to the Royal Saskatchewan Museum, with exhibits on natural history and the people of Canada’s First Nations.

  • The university talks about its achievements through its students and alumni. There are around 72 Rhodes scholars who are the Alumni of the University of Saskatchewan
  • Joseph Schull, Richard Epp, and Maureen Hunter are some of the famous playwrights who were nurtured by the University of Saskatchewan. The university is also home to many politicians
  • The Nobel Prize Winners, Gerhard Herzberg and Henry Taube who won a Nobel Prize in Chemistry in the year 1970 and 1983 respectively are also students of this university. The university has also produced Olympic winners like Sandra Schmirler
