Vinnytsia National Technical University (?????????? ???????????? ????????? ???????????; Vinnytsia nationally tekhnichnyi universytet). An institute of higher education in Vinnytsia under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine. It was established in 1974 as the Vinnytsia Polytechnical Institute on the basis of a branch of the Kyiv Polytechnical Institute. In 1994 it was reorganized into the Vinnytsia State Technical University and in 2003 it was granted the national university status. The university has seven research and teaching institutes: automation, electronics, and computer-controlled systems; civil engineering; electroenergetics and electromechanics; information technologies and computer science; machine construction and transportation; radio technology and communications; and management. It offers evening courses and distance-education courses as well as a graduate program. In 2009–10 a total of 7,700 students were registered in courses. The University publishes a newspaper Impuls and a number of specialized journals.
